As a mother of three, I am constantly on the look out for healthy meals for my kids that are well received. Healthy meals are easy to make, but getting the whole fam to eat them is a different story!  I am not one of those moms that can brag about how their children eat anything put in front of them. Not even close. I see curled lips, and complaints at meals more than I want to admit. However, breakfast is a different story. My kids love breakfast food, and I have no complaints about that fact! Here’s a smoothie I threw together this morning for myself, but ended up only getting a few sips after my one year old got a hold of it!

Ingredients:

  • handful of spinach
  • half of leftover plum (frozen)
  • clementine orange
  • banana
  • handful of frozen blueberries
  • handful of ice
  • enough water to cover the rest of the ingredients

I should have thrown in 1 tablespoon of ground up chia seeds to add some Omega-3 goodness, as well as protein, and extra fiber! I forgot.

Combine all ingredients, and blend until smooth.

Enjoy!

Or, let the baby enjoy his second breakfast!
